Christmas Tree Set-up

The tree topper is an Angel but couldn't get kids and angel both

Hudson has been begging to put up the Christmas tree for like three weeks, so I finally gave in. I knew it be quite an ordeal with two little helpers so I prepared myself for broken ornaments, etc. Well, we didn't break any ornaments but we did break part of small snowglobe (luckily the globe part didn't break) and broke the hat off of a snowman. Little damage done and they both had a great time...especially playing in the Christmas tree box.

Shopping, a Wedding, a Brunch & Thanksgiving early

The handsome couple

All the DG girls!

Lacey and Baby Audrey

Sunny and the Boys

Mer and Drew The fam

We had a whirlwind weekend, but definitely lots of fun. It started Saturday...We dropped the boys off at my parents and headed to Dallas to do a little Christmas shopping before my sorority sisters' wedding that night. We got quite a bit done so I felt rather productive...only 3 people left to buy for! Because we lost track of time, we go to our hotel only 20 mins before the wedding. Luckily, our hotel was across the street from the church. I'm not surprised that we were late...Brian and McCall, as a unit, NEVER get anywhere on time when we are going, in, or coming from out of town. I don't know if we are so excited to be away, that we lose all track of time or what?? Anyway, the wedding was a blast and we danced the night away to a fun and crazy band called the "Spasmatics."

Sunday, we met up with my bestfriend from high school and had brunch with her, her husband and new baby Audrey. Precious. We had a great time catching up. We were inseparable in high school. I remember riding through the streets of Mt. P on the weekends in her little red, two-door, Cavalier. We were carefree and loved every minute of it. We had our whole futures ahead of us. I would have never guessed that life would take us on different paths and that we would lose touch during college and 20's. I remember our crazy, spontaneous, nights and talking til all hours of the morning. I know that we all have to grow up and can't live in the past but hopefully, we'll learn to bring our friendships with us as our lives change. So, this is a challenge to you all....don't let your most treasured friendships fade away b/c you move, get married or even b/c you have children. We all need friends in our life that make us laugh, listen to us complain, hold us up when we cry and share the wonderful joys of life together. CHEERS to Friends!

We ended the weekend with an early Thanksgiving dinner at Mer's house. I love Turkey and Dressing!! We were all worn out from the weekends' festivities so we headed home to the comfort of our own beds.

1st Flight with Daddy

Daddy and Co-Pilot
He loved talking into the headset

Happy boy

We tried to take our pic in the backseat of the plane

Sunset over Mt. Pleasant
The boys have been begging to ride with Brian since they knew he was taking flying lessons. We have been to the airport to watch him land several times but haven't been able to ride with him until now. The boys couldn't wait to go for a ride. We flew over my parents' house, our house and Hudson wanted fly over church. When we flew over my parents' house, Drew kept saying, "Mama, don't let Daddy fly into that water, ok?" Crack me up...that's all he was worried about the whole time. Hudson absolutely loved it. I didn't know how Hudson would do b/c he's always been afraid of loud noises; his whole life. And, b/c of that, he won't participate in a lot of things. I was so proud of him and hope that he and Drew will have many years ahead flying with their Daddy.

I'm married to a PILOT!

Brian's favorite, chocolate pie
The temporary pilot's license
My first ride with the new pilot

Our family pilots and future pilots

Mawmaw and Hudson (w/mouth full of chocolate pie)

After 6 long months of lessons and few scary encounters...my hubby is a PILOT! YEAH! Yesterday, Brian went to Durant, OK to take his check ride with a man from the FAA and he passed! We had a celebration dinner at Mer's house and Paula came too. All the men in our family are pilots and they have been after Brian since we got married to get his license. He has always said "no." Eventually, they quit asking and he decided to do it. A little hard-headed, you think? Anyway, I am so proud of him. He has more determination than anyone I know. This year alone, he's gotten his Insurance license, his Series 7 (to sell investments) and a pilots' license AND is the best husband and dad ever! Congratulations, Sweetie...you're unbelievable! Now...let's go on a trip!!

Leaf jumping

The dog from down the street!

Making Leaf Angels!

Playing at the park

Going up the slide, as usual!

We had a great lazy weekend. I raked the mounds and mounds of leaves in our yard only to find out that it was too windy to burn (according to my yard man, Brian). I was so mad..but at least I worked off the donut I had for breakfast with the kids at The Donut Shop Saturday morning. The boys helped me rake for at least 30 minutes and Drew finally got the idea to run through them. I was wondering how long it would take before one of them thought of it!! They had a blast. And the puppy down the street got in on the fun as well. The boys love that little dog and every time he hears them outside, here he comes ready to play! I know...they'll be begging for one of their own pretty soon.

Halloween weekend

Sunny and the Boys
MawMaw and the Boys

Too fun!

The Aggie and me

Sunday afternoon fun

This is my life as mother of boys...dirt and more dirt!

So...I'm an awful mom and only got 3 Halloween pics this year! I'm so sick about it!!! The night was crazy b/c we had to see all the grandparents before we could go out for the night. We all met for dinner at Herschel's and by the time we got the boys to the church festival, they both wanted their hats, guns, bandana's...everything off. Man...why do I even buy costumes?? So they both went around the church in jeans, a shirt and boots...like most Mt. P kids where all year long (you know, this is real cowboy country). But, they had a blast on the blow-up things and playing the games. Hudson got tired of the crowd after a while so he wanted to go "real" trick or treating. We went to a nice neighborhood and parked the car and walked to several houses. Some of the adults answering the doors were dressed in scary costumes but it didn't slow my two down one bit...they were on a mission - find candy! After tired feet and plenty of sugary treats, we were on the way home. Yeah...

Brian and I went to the A&M vs. Colorado game on Saturday while Paula and Randy kept the boys. It was a great game and Brian picked a good one, since they won!! After doing a little Aggie gear shopping for the boys (B's idea of course) I was in route to find a TV to watch my Horns. Well, you all know what happened so I won't go into it. I'm still in a little bit of shock but it won't keep me from displaying my burnt orange shirt this Saturday while watching the Bears get trampled. Ok...I'm hoping they get trampled. Anyway, it was a fun day and half away!
