Super Blessed

So, my #1 goal this year, surprisingly is already in the works. See post "New Year's Project." YEP, that's right...we are "with child!" PRAISE THE LORD! It's been a long year and a half. I had three months of Femara (similar to Clomid) and third month was a charm. It's a miracle. It's odd to say something's a miracle when we see it happen everyday but it truely is. I know from my experience that absolutely everything has to be in order at the exact time for a little baby to be conceived. It is truely a blessing from God and no "one" or "thing" will ever get the credit from me except HIM!

I am 8 weeks and have already had two ultrasounds. The first time I saw that little heartbeat fluttering...I wanted to yell out...YEAH GOD! I've just been praising Him and asking Him to keep our little baby safe and healthy. And yes...a part of me wants a little girl! Ok...a huge part of me. But hey, God created both sexes and I think it's perfectly ok to desire both.

Due date: Oct. 4th! Sounds good to me....at least it's not December right? Now....I'll only be 16 weeks when we go to NYC but I'm going to bug the fire out of my Dr. to find out before I go. That baby has to have something from New York, right? Thank you for your prayers and emails!

Pics from Sunny's house

These shapes are called "Colorforms" and can stick on windows, etc..they love 'em
Can you tell who's who?? I couldn't, 1st time I saw this pic!

Hudson and Drew...always being silly

Still no camera. Not sure if I should just bite the bullet and go ahead and buy another one. I hate not having a camera with me at all times!! I know you girls know what I mean! Here are a few pics from the boys' visit to Sunny and Papa's Saturday night while B and I went to a Sunday School party. We'll be busy this week practicing T-Ball with the Hud. He has try-outs on Sunday and we have a lot of work to do!! No, I'm not going to be that crazy mom that totally gets into the games and yells at the refs, etc! Ok, so I don't think I will...this is my first child, you know!!

Missing Camera...no posts!!

Sorry, no new post about V-day festivities. I took some cute pics of the boys with their "BAGS" of Valentine candy. They were soooo excited when I picked them up from preschool. We also sent the boys a balloon with a Valentine puppy dog to school. I asked Hudson who gave it to him and he said "Brooke!" That is a little girl in his class! So funny...at least somebody is getting the credit!!

It was a beautiful weekend and we made our rounds to all the grandparents' houses. We also took the boys to the T-ball field on Sunday with their cousins and played a mock baseball game. We just signed H up for his first year of T-ball. We haven't really worked with him that much so we figured it was time to have a little training before the first day of practice! Ohhhhhh, did Daddy and Pawpaw(Randy) jump all over that opportunity. They were so cute showing him how to swing "properly" and throw overhand. Hudson wanted to wear his glove on his right and we kept telling why he couldn't. After trying to throw with his glove on...he quickly realized why he can't wear the glove on the right hand. Hello...you should listen to mom & dad in the first place! Not my little do-it-yourselfer!!

Once I find my camera, I'll upload pics from last weekend. Have a great weekend!

ANOTHER B-day party & a yellow light

Can you find Hudson? Class clown!
"Helping" the birthday girl

Sweaty, already...do girls do this too?

2nd favorite part of the party (playing is 1st)

Hudson had another birthday party again this weekend & it was at the very same location. What else can a winter baby do but have indoor parties? And of course there's not Chuck E Cheez within 60 miles. Hudson informed me this weekend that he wanted to have his birthday party at this same place every year "until I am 20." I told him he will be in college when he's 20 and he said..."well, then until I'm 18." So funny! I have a feeling he'll change his mind, don't you.
O, and Drew was not left completely out of all the fun...he and Daddy drove by this huge exotic animal farm outside Mt. P and saw the zebras, kangaroos, etc while Hud was at his party.
The boys had a great weekend playing outside in shorts and T-shirts. They jumped on the trampoline, played on the dirtpile and swung on the swings until their little hearts' content. Makes me excited for Spring to come. I love bare footed little boys (I wonder if it's b/c they track in less dirt when the don't have on shoes)!
On to the "yellow light" part. Hudson goes to a Preschool and they do all kinds of worksheets to get them ready for "Big school" next year. Every Friday, the teacher sends home a sheet that she colors in...green, yellow or red. It tells the parents how your child did in four areas that week. Well, up until the last two Fridays, Hudson has gotten all green lights. Not sure what his deal is. His teacher said he's not doing his work to best of his ability and then scribbling all over it. She's been giving his sheets back to him to redo and he's had to skip snack once and centers once. I figured that punishment would do the trick...he LOVES centers. A phrase from the 1/2 page letter she sent home said "Hudson is a very smart boy but is developing bad habits that need to be addressed now." Not sure what to think. See, he's in the Kindergarten class with 1/2 the kids actually kindergarten age and the other half are his age. So, what I"m saying is... he's doing all this a year early (meaning reading, writing & math). I don't know if I should cut him slack b/c his maturity is that of a 5 yr old not 6 yr old & I'M the one that allowed him to be put in a class a year ahead of his age. OR...is this a discipline/obeying issue and he should follow instructions no matter what? What do you teachers out there think? Is this a big deal?

First Cavity

Hudson, checking out the stickers they gave hime
Watching a movie

Having "silly air"

I had no idea a 5 year old could have a cavity. I didn't have my first cavity until I was 29 years old! Seriously!!

I noticed a brown spot on Hudson's back tooth and after lots of intense brushing and flossing, it obviously wasn't food. We went to see the local Pediatric dentist and my suspicions were right only we have TWO cavities instead of one. I felt like the biggest failure; as the person in charge of my kids' teeth. And...a little embarrassed. As if I don't care about my son's hygiene. Well, I do have to admit that we don't always brush in the mornings. And...flossing a childs teeth is like trying to floss a moving target!!

So....all you new moms out there, don't let your kids take juice/milk to bed (even if they already brushed their teeth) AND always brush before going to preschool each day. Those are my "pearls of advice." Ok Catherine....I know you are flipping out right now, thinking about kids having juice right before bed(she's a dentist). So...learn from my experience and brush those teeth!!!

Oh, and Hud had a great time btw. He wanted to know what every single instrument was an tried to talk to Dr. Kenny the whole time. The Dr. just looked at me like,"OMG, he talks sooo much." He said, "I bet there's never a dull moment at your house." Crack me up...he could tell that by being with Hudson for 15 mins. Sooo right on!! Oh and they had TV's in the ceiling so he watched movies during the whole thing....BRILLIANT!! Now, let's see how it goes taking little brother in a couple of months.

Birthday party & Flooding, YIPPEE

Birthday Boy, opening what we gave him
Drew, looking very old
Hudson and friend Lucas

Like the warehouse background? Hey, this is small town fun, ok?

The washing machine...piece of junk
Next door neighbor's dog liking the water

My low-key weekend turned into a stressful/comical weekend.

Saturday morning we took the boys to a birthday party at the same place we had there's, last month. The boys ran and ran and jumped and jumped. They Luv those blow-up houses and slides. The birthday boy has been Hudson's best bud since he started going to preschool 2 1/2 yrs ago. They will be going to the same elementary school also. Of course, at this age, little brother gets to go too. Eventually, it won't be proper etiquette, I suppose. For now, they do everything as a duo. They had a great time.
Here's where the "flooding" part comes in:
While the boys were down for a nap, I decided to do some laundry. Brian was already at work (it's tax season, you know) so I thought I'd put a load in and sit and read for a while. After reading for a few minutes, I decided I wanted a pen to underline in this great book ("Don't Waste Your Life" by John Piper) and when I went to the kitchen to get one, I saw water in the hall and utility room. OMG, the washer never shut off filling up with water and it was like an inch deep. What's the first thing I do...after turning the washer off???? Of course...call Brian. He came rushing home. The only that was on my mind was...get water out of house now! So...I ran and grabbed a huge outside broom and begin sweeping water out the back door into the garage. We got the washer outside and did a couple test runs....everything worked perfectly. So, we put it back in the utility room, ran one load just fine. I thought everything was ok, so I ran another load and walked off. Hudson came running thru the house yelling "Mama, water everywhere!" Are you kidding me...So, we spend our peaceful Saturday afternoon cleaning up water TWICE. Oh, I only thought to take a pic "after" we had already cleaned up the utility room, so y'all got a pic of the water in the garage instead.

At least we had some fun....we went to a friends' house to watch the game and eat party food. I hardly saw the kids last night...they love playing with someone else's toys. Despite the flooding catastrophe, weekends are the best!!
